The United Parish of Upper Nidderdale
The six Anglican churches of Upper Nidderdale in North Yorkshire
We are very fortunate to have six lovely churches and with them six warm and welcoming congregations. Each church is distinctive, no two could be said to be alike, from the top of the Dale at Middlesmoor with its amazing view, the finest from any church door and Greenhow with its rugged landscape, reputedly the highest church in England to the ancient Bewerley Grange Chapel (the last remaining Grange of Fountains Abbey still in use with adjoining Chapel) to the atmospheric Ramsgill situated at the foot of Gouthwaite Reservoir, Pateley Bridge, the Town Church and Wilsill with beautiful architecture modeled on St John’s Church in Adel, Leeds. This too has an amazing view of the countryside when you step out of the door. Click on the video link below to have a better look at all six of the churches together.
Nidderdale is classified as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), we believe that it is also an Area of Outstanding Spiritual Beauty too.
The styles of worship are wide and varied too from the traditional Book of Common Prayer, to the more contemporary Common Worship or Celtic Worship.
It’s all here in Upper Nidderdale and we would love to see you.
