Encounter is an informal, relaxed, contemporary worship gathering held in Wilsill church.
We have a range of styles of worship across the parish. Some use the traditional Book of Common Prayer, some use more modern language. Most use an organ to accompany hymns.
Encounter is more contemporary in its style using modern worship songs (but occasionally with a good ‘oldie’ too!) led by a keyboard.
All services in the United Parish of Upper Nidderdale are open to everyone and visitors are always most welcome. But if traditional church does not appeal to you, Encounter might be what you’re looking for!
Encounter is for:
- anyone new to church – come and explore faith with us! This may be more accessible than more traditional services.
- anyone looking for a contemporary style of worship. If you are a member of an another church in the area, you are very welcome to be part of Encounter alongside your normal services.
